You know bamboo is from grass family and to convert it into planks, it has to be undergone many process. Sold Bamboo, Engineered Bamboo and Strand Woven Bamboo are the most commonly used bamboo floors in building industry.
Solid bamboo Flooring is commonly used in Building Industry. It is constructed by taking the bamboo strips and gluing it together in a common way. There are two types of solid bamboo flooring commonly used; vertical and horizontal. Vertical bamboo floors are made by gluing the narrow pieces of bamboo vertically and if the pieces are glued horizontally it is called horizontal bamboo floors. Although the gluing process is slightly different, the look of your floor will be entirely different for vertical bamboo floor and horizontal floor.
Strand woven bamboo is constructed by cutting small pieces of bamboo into strips and mixing them together with resin and powerful adhesive. This mixture is pressed together under extreme heat to make it strong and hard.
Engineered bamboo is made by gluing the small strips of bamboo together for the top layer. Like Solid bamboo flooring, it is also commonly used in building industry. You won’t be able to identify engineered and solid bamboo if you installed. It will look similar.
